The Story behind the product

The initial concept for what later grew into a commercial product began when we realised that a way was needed to transport heavy products to customers, without them rolling about and getting damaged. To do this, we fixed a wooden frame that sat above the tub liner and strapped down the products for delivery.

As previously mentioned, there was the challenge of always having to crawl to the back of the vehicle when delivering the products. We then began to pull the wooden frame out onto the tailgate, to solve this problem.

It later developed into a tray that could slide outwards but remains in place by closing the tailgate. As much as this was more efficient, it was also hazardous, and we needed to come up with a safer and more reliable means of extension.

As someone who had been in the automotive parts development industry for the most significant part of my career, it seemed like the most reasonable idea to transform my innovation into a commercial product and help make transport and delivery service just a little bit better.

One of the significant lessons that I’ve learned while working in this industry is that there is always room for improvement; therefore the product is continually subject to enhancements to improve its work ability.
